III. Information on data processing
Your data processed when using our website will be erased or blocked as soon as the purpose of storage no longer applies, provided that no statutory retention obligations prevent erasure and unless otherwise specified below for individual processing operations.
Server data
For technical reasons, in particular to ensure a secure and stable website, data is transmitted by your internet browser to us or to our web hosting provider, STRATO AG, Pascalstraße 10, 10587 Berlin, Germany.
These so-called server log files include, among other things, the type and version of your internet browser, the operating system, the website from which you accessed our website, known as the referrer URL, the page or pages of our website that you visit, the date and time of the respective access, as well as the IP address of the internet connection from which our website is accessed.
The data collected in this way is stored temporarily, but not together with any other data relating to you.
This storage is carried out on the basis of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest lies in the improvement, stability, functionality and security of our website.
The data is erased after no more than seven days, unless further retention is required for evidentiary purposes. Otherwise, the data is excluded from erasure in whole or in part until an incident has been finally clarified.
To ensure data protection-compliant processing and compliance with applicable data protection laws, we have concluded a data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR with STRATO AG.
SSL or TLS encryption
For security reasons and to protect the transmission of confidential content, such as applications or enquiries that you send to us, our website uses SSL or TLS encryption. Thanks to this encryption, the data you provide to us cannot be read by third parties.
Cookies
a) Session cookies
We use so-called cookies on our website. Cookies are small text files or other storage technologies that are placed and stored on your device by the internet browser you use. Through these cookies, certain information about you, such as your browser data, location data or IP address, may be processed to an individual extent.
This processing makes our website more user-friendly, effective and secure.
The legal basis for this processing is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR, insofar as these cookies are required for the initiation or performance of a contract.
If the processing does not serve the initiation or performance of a contract, our legitimate interest lies in improving the functionality of our website. In this case, the legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.
These session cookies are deleted when you close your internet browser.
b) Third-party cookies and external content
Where applicable, cookies or comparable technologies from third-party providers may also be used on our website, provided that you have given your consent via our cookie banner. This applies in particular to external content and services such as Google Maps.
Without your consent, such external content will not be loaded where consent is required. You may change or withdraw your consent at any time with future effect via the cookie banner settings.
c) Removal option
You can prevent or restrict the installation of cookies by adjusting your internet browser settings. You can also delete cookies that have already been stored at any time. The necessary steps and measures depend on the specific internet browser you use. If you have any questions, please use the help function or documentation of your internet browser or contact its manufacturer or support.
If you prevent or restrict the installation of cookies, this may mean that not all functions of our website can be used to their full extent.
Cookie banner / consent management by Avada
We use a cookie banner or consent management solution by Avada on our website. Through this cookie banner, you can specify whether you wish to consent to the use of certain technically non-essential services, in particular the integration of external content such as Google Maps.
In this context, technically necessary information may be processed which is required to store and manage your consent decision. This may include, in particular, your selection in the cookie banner, the time of the decision and technical information about your browser.
The processing is carried out in order to be able to verify and manage your data protection consent.
The legal basis for the use of the cookie banner is Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR, insofar as the processing is necessary to comply with statutory documentation obligations, as well as Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest lies in the legally compliant design of our website and the documentation of your privacy settings.
Google Fonts
Google Fonts are used on our website. The fonts are integrated locally via our own server. Therefore, when you access our pages, no connection is established to Google servers in order to load fonts.
Due to the local integration of Google Fonts, no personal data is transmitted to Google in this context.
Google Maps
A map provided by the Google Maps service is embedded on our website. The provider is Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.
The map is not loaded automatically without your consent. Through our cookie banner, you can decide whether Google Maps should be activated. Only once you have consented to the integration or activated the map will a connection to Google servers be established.
In this process, personal data may be processed and transmitted to Google, in particular your IP address and information about your use of our website. Depending on your use and settings, further data, such as location data, device information, browser information or usage data, may also be processed by Google.
It cannot be ruled out that Google may also transfer data to servers of Google LLC in the United States. Google may process the data collected via Google Maps for its own purposes, in particular for the provision, analysis, improvement and personalization of Google services.
The legal basis for the integration of Google Maps is your consent pursuant to Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR. You may withdraw your consent at any time with future effect via the cookie banner settings.
Further information on data processing by Google can be found in Google’s Privacy Policy at policies.google.com/privacy and in the terms of use for Google Maps or Google Maps Platform.
Contact enquiries / contact options
If you contact us via contact form, email, telephone or fax, the data you provide will be used to process your enquiry. Providing this data is necessary in order to process and respond to your enquiry. Without providing this data, we may not be able to respond to your enquiry, or only to a limited extent.
The legal basis for this processing is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR.
Your data will be erased once your enquiry has been finally answered and no statutory retention obligations prevent erasure, for example in the case of any subsequent contract processing.
Online job applications / publication of job advertisements
We offer you the opportunity to apply to us via our website. In the case of such digital applications, your applicant and application data will be collected and processed electronically by us for the purpose of handling the application process.
The legal basis for this processing is Section 26(1) sentence 1 of the German Federal Data Protection Act, BDSG, in conjunction with Art. 88(1) GDPR.
If an employment contract is concluded following the application process, we will store the data submitted by you during the application process in your personnel file for the purpose of the usual organizational and administrative processes. This is, of course, done in compliance with further legal obligations.
The legal basis for this processing is also Section 26(1) sentence 1 BDSG in conjunction with Art. 88(1) GDPR.
If an application is rejected, we automatically erase the data submitted to us two months after notification of the rejection. However, erasure does not take place if the data must be stored for a longer period of up to four months or until the conclusion of legal proceedings due to statutory provisions, for example due to obligations to provide evidence under the German General Equal Treatment Act, AGG.
In this case, the legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR and Section 24(1) No. 2 BDSG. Our legitimate interest lies in legal defense or enforcement.
If you expressly consent to longer storage of your data, for example for inclusion in an applicant or candidate database, the data will continue to be processed on the basis of your consent. The legal basis is then Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR. You may, of course, withdraw your consent at any time with future effect by notifying us in accordance with Art. 7(3) GDPR.
